Three main learning theories underpin pedagogical practice today; behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism. This site provides the relevance of cognitivism and cognitive structures to instructional design and teaching.

 

Please note that information processing theory is not covered in this site due to similarities with cognitive load theory. Social cognitive theory (previously called social learning theory, is also not included in this site.
