Peer Reflections
Audio version
One of the most valuable experiences during this course was my connection with peers. I first met them through their digital introductions and then in person during the synchronous week. I appreciated their feedback on my assignments and learned from them.

Receiving and providing feedback is a natural aspect of higher education, and doing it well takes practice. It requires critical thinking, a kind heart, and an honest intention to support learning and a growth mindset. Making is an iterative practice and prototyping a digital or physical artifact requires sharing what you have made with others (Liberatory Design n.d.); a feature of contructionism and social learning (Papert 1991). I'm grateful for the opportunity to surround myself with the collective wisdom of my peers through this course and our making experiences.

We were provided an outline, in the form of a choice board of topics, for how to provide peer feedback (Ewart 2023). Dr. Ewart, our instructor, tasked us to choose two choice board headings and to be "specific, meaningful, and kind." The headings were, "Greatest Strength", "Tiny Tweaks", "Celebrate Surprises", "Hungry for More", "Mind Blown", and "Clarifying Confusion."I will remember this formula and use it in future courses!
